Earthworm Jim 2

AKA: “EWJ2” (Informal)

Summary: Everyone’s favourite invertebrate in a power suit is back in a sequel that’s bigger, brasher, funnier and just plain stranger than its ‘93 original.

Review

The use of classical music is fantastic. The final level, a frantic race to the finish against Psycrow, is accompanying by a truncated version of the final part of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata — the deliriously complicated “Presto Agitato.”

Trivia Point:
Earthworm Jim TV showEarthworm Jim was one of the few games to spawn a successful Saturday morning cartoon show. The show featured a remarkable blend of great animation, subversive, self-referential humour and some legendary one-liners, along with a healthy splosh of knowing pop-culture references. This was made all the better by Jim being voiced by Dan Castellaneta, none other than the voice of Homer Simpson. In all, 23 episodes were made — track these down if you can, they’re gold.
